‘You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.’ ~ Psalm 23:4

Our merciful, loving and gracious Father is with us.

No matter what you may be facing, He is with you.

His rod, to protect you, and His staff, to guide you, will not leave you.

Find comfort and strength, and let your heart be reassured, He is here.

Prayer: Lord, You are the One who loves me, You are the One who guides me, and You are the One who protects me. I will rest secure and be comforted by this great fact. Amen.

‘Why should I fear when evil days come?’ ~ Psalm 49:5

The Lord is with you, you have nothing to fear.

Throughout the ages, the Lord has walked with those facing trouble!

Did He not shut the lion’s mouths when Daniel was in the lion’s den?

He will do the same for you, regardless of what you are facing – do not fear!

Prayer: Lord, thank You for the reassuring fact that You are with me. There is no trouble, no evil and no difficulty that I cannot overcome with You by my side. I will trust and not be afraid. Amen.

‘He will choose our inheritance for us…’ ~ Psalm 47:4

We often think that we know what is best for ourselves.

The truth is that the Lord knows what is best for us in our situation.

He knows better than any of our imaginations, what is best for us.

He knows our strengths, our weaknesses, and He knows what is best.

Prayer: Lord, today I recognise that You know better than I. I ask You to choose what is best for me and I ask You to give me the inheritance that You have planned for me. Amen.

‘Now the war between the house of Saul and the house of David was protracted (long). And David grew stronger and stronger, while the house of Saul grew weaker and weaker.’ ~ 2 Samuel 3:1

Just because nothing changes does not mean that nothing’s happening.

There was a long battle between David and Saul, but things were changing.

Through the hardship, David grew stronger and Saul grew weaker.

Eventually God brought David out on top and He will do the same for you.

Prayer: Lord, help me to not get impatient when things ‘appear’ to be at a standstill. I realise that You are always busy working, and You are working things out for my good. Amen.

‘He causes wars to end…’ ~ Psalm 46:9 (NLT)

No situation, regardless of how severe it is, is beyond the hand of God.

He can turn things around and cause ‘wars’ to cease.

Perhaps you find yourself in the midst of a great battle?

He can turn that situation around, and then He brings His peace.

Prayer: Lord, thank You that You are the miracle-working God. You cause wars to end and You can do a miracle in my situation and bring Your peace into every aspect. Do a miracle for me, I pray. Amen.

The shepherds made it their priority to find the Lord and see Him for themselves.

We should do likewise and make it our priority to find the One we need.

He will be found by those who will seek for Him and seek with all their hearts.

Having found Him, we will never be the same, and we will be changed forever.

Prayer: Lord, at this wonderful time of the year, I choose to make You my priority. May I not be consumed by all the materialism, but may the real reason for the season be real to me. Amen.
